Driving Directions
Driving directions from San Juan?
Catch the expressway west #22. The expressway ends in the town of Arecibo. It merges into highway #2. This will take you to the northwestern tip of Puerto Rico, Aguadilla and continue a southbound turn. As you turn you will start to descend a large hill. At the base of the hill there will be a stoplight. A Walgreens will be towards your right. Make a right turn at light, follow road to end and make a left. After few hundred yards this road forks to the right follow to right, you are on #115. This road will take you to and thru the town of Aguada. You must bare left at the end of the town of Aguada and follow the signs for 115. 115 brings you to the small town Rincon. You will pass the post office on the left and after a few hundred feet of winding road you will see the Playero surf shop on your right (comes up fast). Make a right at this intersection (#413) (You will be heading toward El Faro, The lighthouse).Approximately two miles down this road make a left at Prof.Gabino Tirado (towards coast). At the next intersection turn right, then a quick left. The house is the second to your right, you will see a sign "Surf 11" posted near the front door. The area is rural but only a few yards off the famous "Road to Happiness" Route #413.
From Mayaguez:
Highway #2 leads you from Mayaguez to Rincon. There are several entrances west toward Rincon. The easiest is the first one that is #115. You make a left and this road winds up and down into the town of Rincon. Follow it thru the town and it will take you to the intersection of 413. Turn left at the Playero surf shop. Approximately two miles down this road make a left at Prof.Gabino Tirado (towards coast). At the next intersection turn right, then a quick left. The house is the second to your right, you will see a sign "Surf 11" posted near the front door. The area is rural but only a few yards off the famous "Road to Happiness" Route #413.
Things to do in the inmediate area.

There are a few places to eat that are walking distance. Two blocks south at the small marina there is a nice grill restaurant. On Sundays there, aslo at the marina, is a small cart (carrito) it has the best bbq kbobs. He also has home made pasteles. Good and inexpensive.
The list of restaurants in the area is varied. I will mention a few that you could look up. Harbor Restaurant (very close to area),Horned Dorset Primavera (This one is unique in that it is the only Five Star restaurant in the Caribbean!). The Spot,Calypso,Tamboo Tavern Rest., Casa IsleƱa,English Rose. There are chinese restaurants and panaderias (bakeries) (great for coffee and breakfast)

Tres palmas is still country (rural). The natural tropical wildlife will be all around you. Look for neon colored dragonflies, multicolored spiders (as far as I know, not dangerous).Small geckos in the grass, iguanas, and of course a large variety of tree lizards (mosquito eaters). Bird migration begins in October and the variety is abundant, from Baltimore Orioles to neat looking hunting hawks. Large variety of migrating sea birds. Look for large ospreys and ocean going frigate birds. Large egrets and small blue egrets are seen walking around. Great picture taking!

The house has a fenced in yard and is pet friendly. The house has a large outdoor terrace with a half bathroom and a tiled counter with a kitchen sink for great outdoor entertaining. The terrace has a 22" BBQ weber grill. The beach is only about 300' from the house so a clear view of the waves at the Tres Palmas Break and the surfing is available from the back terrace.
The house has two rooms. One has a split A/C, the other an overhead fan. There are beds for six adults. The kitchen is fully furnished and has a gas stove, microwave and a drip coffee maker. There is a washing machine available. Our guest have been more than satisfied with the accomodations they encountered.
The beach is great for kids when the surf is not too large. There are wading pools and excellent snorkeling.
